Learn a new technique with Linda Nunes
Adult Programs
September 28 / 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
Join us as we learn about the beautiful and ancient medium of encaustic. We’ll cover tools, safety and several techniques. You’ll leave the workshop with finished projects, written material and a new found confidence in this very versatile medium. Don’t miss this opportunity to try encaustic – a luminous and unique medium that works with so many other types of media including photography, collage, and much, much more. Enjoy a creative day of hands-on instruction in a small group setting.
To help you prepare for our time together, here’s a list of items to bring with you (Optional) . . .
Bag lunch or snack
Pen or pencil – if you’d like to take notes
Small scissors
Small 4 oz. container for water
Small inexpensive brush: ½” – 1” is fine
Apron – if you’re messy like me
Ephemera (this is optional, but it really makes your work more personal).
This could include:
Any small 3D doo-dah you would like to try embedding into the wax
Inexpensive, thin papers (old dictionary pages, vintage children’s books, sheet music, maps, diagrams, etc.) Not cardstock or glossy magazine pages
Netting, lace, decorative paper napkins
Ink jet copies of photos or other images – black/white or color (Not original photos)
Any paper images you bring will be used in 5” x 5” size projects so you can plan these accordingly.
All materials included.
All skill levels welcome.
